ABOUT THIS ROLE:
Working closely with the Head of Content and Creative Team, you will be responsible for developing and executing social media strategies that inspire, engage, and grow our community. This will see you creating and scheduling content across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn and emerging platforms, managing influencer partnerships, and driving social-first campaigns that bring The Memo brand to life. The successful Social Media Specialist will be a creative storyteller with a keen eye for detail, confident in producing both copy and visual content, and have a passion for understanding trends and analytics to continually optimise results.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES1. Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement a social media strategy aligned with the organisation's marketing objectives.
- Research industry trends, competitors, and target audience behaviour to inform strategy.
- Plan and manage a content calendar across all relevant platforms.
2. Content Creation
- Create, edit, and publish engaging multimedia content (images, videos, reels, graphics, blog snippets, polls, stories).
- Write compelling, brand-aligned copy for posts, captions, and campaigns
- Ensure all content reflects brand tone, style, and values.
3. Platform Management
- Manage day-to-day activity across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, Pinterest, and emerging channels.
- Schedule posts, manage engagement, and respond to comments/messages in a timely, professional manner.
- Collaborate with influencers, partners, and brand ambassadors to expand reach.
4. Community Engagement
- Build and nurture online communities to foster brand loyalty and increase engagement
- Proactively engage with relevant industry pages, groups, and hashtags to grow brand presence.
5. Analytics & Reporting
- Track and analyse performance metrics to evaluate campaign effectiveness.
- Provide regular reports and insights, including recommendations for optimisation.
- Monitor platform algorithms and best practices to maximise reach and engagement.
6. Collaboration & Campaigns
- Work closely with the Marketing, Design teams to align social media activity with broader campaigns.
- Support product launches, events, and promotions through social campaigns
ABOUT YOU:
You're a social media all-rounder who lives and breathes digital storytelling. You know how to craft content that stops the scroll, and you have a natural ability to connect with audiences through both words and visuals. You're organised, proactive, and love working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where no two days are the same. You're across the latest trends and platform updates, but you also understand the importance of staying true to brand voice and values. You're confident in managing multiple platforms, creating engaging content, and using analytics to refine and grow results. Most importantly, you're passionate about building a community and making every interaction with our brand feel good.
- 2+ years' experience managing social media channels for a brand or organisation
- Strong copywriting skills and a keen eye for aesthetics
- Experience creating content for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn (and more if you're keen)
- Knowledge of content creation tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar.
- Familiarity with analytics and social scheduling tools
- A collaborative spirit with a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude
- A passion for connecting with and growing engaged online communities

This role is based in Melbourne, however we are open to considering candidates located in Sydney who are looking to work remotely.
