About the role

The Octopus Hospitality Group is seeking an experienced and talented Sous Chef to join our dynamic team at our restaurant in Redcliffe, QLD. As a full-time Sous Chef, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional culinary experiences for our customers.

What you'll be doing

  • Assisting the General Manager in overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, food preparation, stock ordering and quality control
  • Supervising and mentoring the kitchen team to ensure consistent and high-quality food delivery
  • Implementing and maintaining strict food safety and hygiene standards
  • Collaborating with the management team to develop and refine menu offerings
  • Managing inventory and making recommendations for ingredient purchases
  • Fostering a positive and productive work environment in the kitchen

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent role in a reputable restaurant or hospitality establishment
  • Strong working knowledge of Italian cuisine and a variety of cooking techniques, as well as experience in stock control and ordering
  • Excellent time management, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional communication and team leadership skills
  • Passion for creating authentic and delicious dishes
  • Valid food safety and hygiene certification
