Avant is Australia's leading medical defence organisation with a proud heritage of protecting Australian medical professionals for over 130 years.
Avant now represents 90,000 health practitioners and medical students across every state and territory, delivering market leading products and services to meet their professional, personal and practice needs.
As a member-owned organisation, our mission is to protect, support and empower our members across every stage of their professional journey.
About the role
We are seeking a Senior Manager Customer Lifecycle to join our Customer and Strategy Division — a newly created role that will be pivotal in transforming how we engage with our members and drive long-term growth.
You will lead the strategy and design of personalised customer journeys across onboarding, engagement, retention, and cross-sell. Using cutting-edge marketing automation technology, you will develop scalable lifecycle programs that enhance customer experience and deepen relationships across multiple channels.
You'll be the custodian of Avant's lifecycle ecosystem, ensuring that every customer touchpoint is meaningful, data-informed, and aligned to business objectives.
Why this role matters
This is your opportunity to build Avant's customer lifecycle capability from the ground up. You will:
- Shape and own the end-to-end lifecycle strategy for one of Australia's most trusted professional organisations.
- Directly impact member satisfaction, retention, and business growth.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to embed customer-centric thinking across the Group.
- Lead a strategic shift toward data-driven, automated marketing across business lines.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop customer lifecycle strategies to drive engagement, retention, and revenue growth.
- Design and optimise automated journeys across email, SMS, web, and other channels.
- Coordinate customer journey planning across multiple business units to deliver a consistent and integrated experience.
- Collaborate with data teams to build intelligent, personalised campaigns using audience segmentation and insights.
- Measure performance, continuously improving through experimentation and optimisation.
- Champion change across the organisation, helping stakeholders embrace new ways of working.
Skills and experience required:
- Proven experience in marketing, with a strong focus on lifecycle or CRM marketing.
- Proven track record of delivering end-to-end campaigns, from insight to measurement.
- Experience implementing and optimising marketing automation journeys.
- Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Comfortable working with data teams and translating insights into actionable strategies.
- Deep understanding of privacy, data governance, and customer consent frameworks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Commercial acumen with a customer-centric mindset.
- Background in financial services, healthcare, or professional services preferred.
Why join Avant?
- Be part of an organisation that truly makes a difference in the healthcare sector.
- Work in a collaborative, member-first environment that values innovation and integrity.
- Grow your career in the fast-evolving martech landscape.
- Flexible hybrid work model and a supportive, purpose-driven culture.
We have a diverse and connected work environment where your contribution and ideas will be valued and respected and make a real difference to the lives of others. We offer a range of benefits and opportunities to enable you learn and grow in your career.
