Digital Developer

The role

At Auto & General, we're proud to be one of Australia's most awarded insurers, and we're looking for a Digital Developer to join our high-performing Marketing & Aggregation team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to bring your front-end development skills to life by building and optimising customer-facing digital experiences. You'll work in a collaborative, campaign-focused environment that feels like an internal digital agency, delivering engaging, accessible and responsive content across Budget Direct and other brands..

What you'll do

• Develop web accessible, browser-compatible code for Budget Direct's website and supporting digital properties.
• Maintain and improve existing content assets including websites, blogs and interactive tools.
• Support the team in the transition from Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) to AstroJS over the next 12 months, contributing to a modernised digital platform.
• Implement changes to improve site speed, accessibility and SEO outcomes.
• Use and contribute to a modern tech stack including AstroJS, Cloudflare Workers, GitLab pipelines and Git.
• Work in a fast-paced Agile team, balancing multiple BAU requests and project priorities.

What experience you'll bring

• Proven experience in front-end development – strong skills in HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Knowledge of CMS platforms (Adobe Experience Manager highly regarded; WordPress, Sitecore or Drupal also valued).
• Experience with version control (Git) and modern frameworks (React or Vue beneficial).
• Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Understanding of digital marketing principles and SEO best practices.
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
