Senior Software Developer

You may know R6 Digital as one of Brisbane's leading creative and digital agencies. What you might not know is that behind the scenes, we've built a global software company that's redefining how the self-storage industry runs.

At R6, we have a number of our own SaaS products as well as a number of different custom-built projects and integrations for our clients. In short, we have a lot of different things going on, so we're looking for somebody that's flexible both in solving problems and building and delivering new projects.

What we're looking for:
  • At least 5 years of mid-to-senior level experience
  • Ability to diagnose and solve problems with existing complex systems
  • Ability to architect and build new projects
  • Ability to adapt to different software development stacks quickly
  • Experience providing advice to junior developers, including code reviews
  • A level of self-sufficiency and the ability to work independently if necessary or with other developers, depending on the needs of the project
Useful skills to have for this role:

We don't require experience with any specific language, but as a reference, here's the sort of thing you'll be doing at R6:

  • Working with PHP - primarily Laravel for our own products and internal projects, and sometimes WordPress integrations for client-specific work
  • Working with JavaScript - mostly in the frontend, primarily React, but sometimes vanilla JS
  • Using Docker Swarm to deploy applications
  • Using Expo and React Native to build mobile apps
  • Using Git to manage source code and collaborate with the team
  • Building integrations between all sorts of different REST APIs
  • Working on internal tooling such as scripts and web services to make our own lives easier
