Primary objective

Provide effective property management and high-level service provision to all clients of the residential services unit.

Context statement

Alice Springs Hospital (ASH) provides accommodation for staff, comprising 163 on-campus rooms and units together with a large portfolio

of off-campus locations across the Alice Springs environ. The Residential Services Office is responsible for staff accommodation, property

management, supporting new employee arrivals, Photo ID cards and administering appropriate security access for employees across the

campus.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Facilitate suitable accommodation arrangements for approved staff in accordance with the Staff Accommodation Guideline and ensure

all properties within the portfolio are well maintained through regular maintenance and inspections.

2. Operate in accordance with the Northern Territory (NT) Residential Tenancies Act.

3. Process bond payments, rental deductions, invoices in accordance with relevant systems and processes.

4. Assist with the oversight of the accommodation database and cleaning schedules to ensure efficient utilisation of properties.

5. Provide high level service provision to clients of the Residential Services Unit and meet operational demands.

6. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in

order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Highly developed interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely and tailor communication to suit

the audience and situation, including the ability to resolve challenging situations in a sensitive and professional manner.

2. Demonstrated ability to employ a high level of discretion, organisational, analytical and time management skills to facilitate efficient

service provision, providing a range of information to internal and external stakeholders that is clear and accurate.

3. Demonstrated ability to manage a high workload with constantly changing priorities, work independently under limited supervision

and coordinate a range of tasks to meet critical deadlines.

4. High-level of motivation and self-direction with the ability to employ initiative, set priorities and effectively develop and implement

strategic change.

5. Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply relevant systems, policies, processes and charging regimes associated with the effective

operations of a large and complex property management unit.

6. Demonstrated ability to identify emerging challenges, opportunities and complex issues and work collaboratively to develop solutions

and enhance service delivery.

7. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage complex enquiries and complaints, including the investigation and development of

recommendations for consideration and diffuse situations with clients of the service.

8. Demonstrated experience in property management and sound knowledge of the associated requirements for effective service delivery.

9. A current Northern Territory "C" Class Drivers Licence.

Desirable

1. Knowledge of NT Residential and Tenancies Acts.

2. Property Management Certificate
