Primary objective

Ensure quality outcomes for all recruitment and on-boarding processes by providing expert and specialised recruitment and on-boarding

knowledge and high-level advice to managers and staff, in line with policy and legislative requirements of the Northern Territory. Facilitate

visa sponsorships and new employee work readiness prior to commencement and on first day of employment.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Coordinate the planning/logistical arrangements for recruiting and on-boarding new employees – e.g. accommodation, IT access,

uniform, and relocation reimbursements.

  1. Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with key internal/external stakeholders to ensure programs and policies are

appropriate and reflect changing requirements.

3. Complete reporting and audits as directed by the Manager/Service, pertaining to recruitment and on-boarding activities, essential

training, visa sponsorship, agency utilisation etc.

4. Engage with potential and new employees and provide a positive and welcoming experience to Central Australia.

5. Develop, implement and embed procedures for the appropriate management of visa sponsorship arrangements, including eligibility,

the sponsorship lodgement and issue resolution.

6. Provide specialist administrative support and training to other Hub staff/On-boarding officers, and stakeholders as required.

7. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in

order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.

8. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Demonstrated advanced time management and organisational skills – able to think and act strategically, analyse data, initiate/adapt to

change and complete tasks within tight deadlines.

2. Well-developed research and analytical skills, and ability to use initiative to identify opportunities for improvement and resolve

problems.

3. Demonstrated leadership skills - able to resolve conflict, and ability to build and maintain trust and respect.

4. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team and with minimal supervision.

5. Sound understanding of cultural diversity, Primary/Public Health Care, Equal Employment Opportunity and HR Management.

6. Proven high-level interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) and be able to function in a discrete, confidential and polite

manner within a diverse cross-cultural work environment.

7. Proven customer service experience and an understanding of the complexities of service delivery issues in relation to rural and remote

communities throughout Central Australia Region.

8. Comprehension of the Public Sector Employment Management Act (PSEMA), NT enterprise agreements, by-laws, determinations and

instructions, as well as HR and VISA functions as relevant to NT Health and the NT Government or similar.

9. Advanced computer competency and the ability to effectively operate and troubleshoot within multiple programmes.

Desirable

1. Demonstrated working knowledge of Central Australia localities, health services and relevant systems

2. Certificate IV/Diploma or above in field of Human Resources/Business Administration/Public Administration or similar
