Fitter & Turner / Machinist

ALTERNATIVE ENGINEERINGis an engineering machine shop specializing in the machining and fabrication of engineering plastic and metal components for a wide range of industries.

Our key clients are in the Food & beverage, Transport & Infrastructure Industries.

Alternative Engineering is a looking for a suitable applicant to join our engineering team to provide professional and consistent support for our established client base.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Minimum of 3 + years' experience as a Fitter & Turner. Trade Qualified
  • Competent operation of a center lathe, Milling machine
  • Operate hand tools, router, sand blaster
  • Ability to read, interpret and follow method statements and procedures. Competent in reading and understanding specifications, drawings and all other disciple related projects and engineering documentation.
  • Assemble parts according to drawing specifications.
  • Strong understanding and commitment to Workplace Health & Safety
  • Maintain good house keeping
  • Able to use precision measuring instruments like Vernier, Micrometer, bore Dial gauge etc..
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Punctuality, reliability, efficiency & sound work ethic
  • Attention to detail
  • Work effectively in a team environment as well as independently
