We are currently seeking experienced CNC Machinists to join our advanced manufacturing site based onsite in Port Melbourne on a full-time permanent basis. The roles will primarily be based on day and afternoon shift.
Position Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC Machines
- Work to fine tolerances
- Understanding of cutting tools (Tool life and condition, speeds and feeds)
- Basic understanding of general dimensions and tolerances
- Use of measuring instruments – micrometers, verniers and slip gauges
- Follow written instructions to set up fixtures and associated tooling
- Use of hand tools for deburring/thickness
- Perform operator quality verification
- Basic understanding of continuous improvement and lean principle
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):
- Minimum 3 years CNC Machining experience on 4 or 5 (High Speed) Axis Machine is essential
- Australian recognized Trade Qualification as a First-Class Machinist is essential
- Flexibility to be available across both day and afternoon shift is essential
- Ability to read and interpret Engineering & Technical Drawings
- General knowledge of OH&S procedures and exposure to quality systems
- Proven capability to work to agreed deadlines
- Good communication skills and work well within a team environment
- Full, unrestricted working rights in Australia
Additional Information:
This is an Enterprise Agreement position and classified as an Aerospace Tradesperson 1. The successful candidate will be required to complete pre-employment checks and a 3-month probationary period.
