About the role

Excel Interior Group, a leading construction company, is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team in our Cockburn Central, WA 6164 office. As a full-time Estimator, you will play a crucial role in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of construction projects, with a strong focus on gyprock, plasterboard systems and metal stud partitions.

What you'll be doing

  1. Analysing project specifications, drawings, and requirements to develop comprehensive cost estimates
  2. Sourcing and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotes to ensure the most competitive pricing
  3. Collaborating with the project management team to refine estimates and identify potential cost savings
  4. Preparing detailed quote proposals and tender submissions to secure new projects
  5. Maintaining a thorough understanding of industry trends, regulations, and best practices
  6. Providing support and guidance to the estimating team to ensure consistent and reliable estimating processes

What we're looking for

  1. Must have a qualification in estimating or quantity surveying
  2. Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and cost drivers
  3. Proficiency in quantity take-offs, pricing, and quote preparation
  4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  5. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  6. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  7. Proficiency in using estimating software and MS Office suite
  8. Someone with a growth mindset
