Primary objective
Coordinate high level client services operations and lead the development and delivery of multiple projects at varying levels of
complexity through strategic coordination, advice and analysis for continuous improvement of wellbeing and inclusion services.
Context statement
Student Wellbeing and Inclusion Programs and Services (SWIPS) is part of Inclusion and Engagement Services, which provides
differentiated support services to reform inclusion and improve engagement and access to learning for children, students and
communities. Student Wellbeing and Inclusion Programs and Services provides advice, guidance and support to clients and stakeholders
to ensure all children and students are welcomed into an inclusive learning environment and are able to engage effectively with education
and learn to their full potential.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide strategic and operational support for the Client Services leadership team, ensuring best practice approaches to business
processes including guidelines, recruitment, panel contracts, budgets and relationship management.
2. Contribute to the development, review and evaluation of service delivery processes and support change management as required
for operational effectiveness.
3. Initiate, plan and deliver complex strategic projects, ensure their alignment to outcomes through evaluation practices, and provide
progress reporting as required.
4. Coordinate, research and prepare high level briefs, submissions, reports and correspondence to enable Client Services functions to
be carried out effectively.
5. Develop and maintain effective partnerships, consult, liaise and negotiate projects / policy positions to promote stakeholder buy-in.
6. Establish and promote organisational project management and processes that are embedded into planning and delivery of Client
Services.
7. Contribute to and support the senior management team by working with staff to improve their understanding and participation in
Client Service's operations and project planning, evaluation and reporting responsibilities.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience in high level operations and project management planning, change management, delivery, adaptability,
evaluation and monitoring of complex initiatives.
2. Politically astute with proven capability to be accountable, professional and ethical in a politically sensitive environment.
3. Superior written communication, reporting, interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience in the preparation of strategic advice
and support, briefings, reports and other correspondence.
4. Demonstrated ability to work independently to a high standard and to provide authoritative strategic and operational management
and advice to ensure quality and effectiveness of client services.
5. Demonstrated ability to confidently build and maintain effective networks within a matrix style working environment, undertake
consultation, and liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
Desirable
1. Tertiary qualification in education, social work, psychology or other relevant allied health discipline.
2. Tertiary qualification in public sector management, project management, human services, business or related fields.
- Knowledge of education systems and the strategic directions and objectives of the Department of Education and Northern Territory
Government and legislation for students with disability.
