THE ROLE
The Principal Project Manager will work in a collaborative and innovative team focused on construction delivery and completion for the redevelopment of Homes Victoria high-rise tower sites in accordance with the Government's Housing Statement. The Principal Project Manager will provide pro-active and authoritative project management leadership for Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects, oversee and manage consultancies and contractors involved in design, documentation and project delivery and work with key stakeholders including Councils and authorities to progress design and delivery works. This includes coordinating procurement processes, budget and cash flow management, construction contract administration, stakeholder management, reporting and risk and issues management.
Day-to-day your responsibilities will include:
- Lead the full life cycle of projects to meet departmental objectives including project development and delivery, monitoring and evaluation.
- Lead the preparation and presentation of reports, internal and ministerial briefs, cabinet and agency submissions.
- Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders to facilitate a partnership approach.
- Develop, implement and maintain efficient project administration systems including document tracking and control and proactively creating and implementing new systems to streamline processes as required.
Skills
You bring the vision, initiative and collaborative leadership needed to deliver this urban renewal project. Some of the skills, experience and mindset we're looking for include:
- Demonstrated relevant experience in a similar role, including delivery of large scale residential projects and a high attention to detail and accuracy, is essential. Experience in Private Public Partnership (PPP) is preferable.
- Strong procurement and delivery knowledge for the full lifecycle of projects including transaction, design, planning, delivery, completion and transition to operations. A sound understanding of contract management, construction contracts, contract administration processes and project completion processes is required.
