Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.

Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the `Courts Group'.

CCV

The County Court of Victoria is established pursuant to the County Court Act 1958. It has original and appellate jurisdiction and is the principal trial court in the State of Victoria. The Court hears over 12,000 criminal, common law, and commercial cases each year. The County Court has unlimited monetary jurisdiction in common law and commercial matters. In its criminal jurisdiction, the Court hears all indictable offences except treason, murder, and related offences.

There are a total of 80 Judges of the Court and over 300 staff, including judicial support staff. The County Court regularly conducts circuit sittings at 12 circuit courts situated in major centres throughout regional Victoria.

About the Role

The County Court of Victoria is seeking a highly capable and strategic Project Officer to support the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Principal Registrar and Executive Leadership Team. This is a unique opportunity to work at the centre of the Court's operations, driving innovation and delivering high-impact projects that support the delivery of excellent justice outcomes.

The Project Officer to the CEO and Principal Registrar provides high-level strategic, analytical and project management support to the CEO and Principal Registrar. The role plays a key part in delivering initiatives aligned with the Court's Strategic and Business Plans, while also ensuring the effective operation of the Office of the CEO and Principal Registrar. Operating in a complex and sensitive environment, the role liaises with senior stakeholders and supports executive decision-making through insight, coordination and leadership.

Duties include:

  • Manage the Office of the CEO and Principal Registrar and provide executive support to the CEO and Principal Registrar and Executive Leadership Team
  • Lead and deliver complex, high-priority projects aligned with the Court's strategic objectives
  • Prepare and review sensitive documents, briefings and reports with accuracy and strategic insight
  • Coordinate governance and reporting processes, including tracking strategic priorities and outcomes
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support collaboration and effectiveness.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in project management, executive support or strategic operations in a complex organisation
  • Strong analytical and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare high-quality documents and advice
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities, exercise discretion and work under pressure
  • Experience engaging with senior stakeholders and influencing outcomes in a sensitive environment
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in public administration, law, business or a related field (desirable)
