Role Overview
The accountant will work with the Foundation's financial operations, ensuring accurate record-keeping, account reconciliation, and compliance. This role supports effective delivery of programs by preparing, summarising, and reconciling financial data, supporting audits, and maintaining transparency.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, organise, and summarise financial data for management reporting and decision-making.
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and summaries.
- Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank accounts, and general ledger entries.
- Reconcile accounts regularly to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records.
- Manage donor payments, grants, and contributions using QuickBooks and Stripe.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for programs and projects.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
- Support audits by preparing documentation and liaising with external auditors.
- Collaborate with program and fundraising teams to ensure funds are used in alignment with project purposes.
- Provide financial guidance to management to support program delivery and organisational sustainability.
- Maintain accurate reporting and data to ensure transparency and accountability.
Selection Criteria
- Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years relevant experience; NFP or community work preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in QuickBooks, Stripe, and MS Office.
