Senior Resource Geologist/Geochemist

Encounter Resources is seeking an experienced and dynamic geologist/geochemist for a multi-disciplinary role spanning geological, geometallurgical and resource domain modelling. The role requires an experienced professional for a full-time Perth-based role to lead development of a detailed geological model across Encounter's carbonatite niobium-REE deposits to feed into metallurgical analysis and assist in guiding the Company's expanded infill drilling programs. This is an opportunity to step into a high growth environment and take ownership of the geological model, working within a passionate team of explorationists uncovering the full potential of the most exciting exploration tenure in Australia; Encounter's Aileron Project in the West Arunta.

Key Responsibilities

  • Detailed analysis and integration of extensive geochemical and mineralogical datasets to iterate 'best fit' between geological and geometallurgical characterisation.
  • Create and maintain 3D spatial volumes and numerical models for key geological/geometallurgical domains
  • Maintain and supervise the quality of geochemical and mineralogical data and lead integration with SQL database systems

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working effectively within a multidisciplinary team including

  • collaboration with and guidance from Encounter's Metallurgists

  • collaboration with Encounter's Geologists and contribution to data collection, geological logging and geochemical analytical requirements
  • experience interfacing with Resource geologists/consultants

Qualifications and Experience

  • Tertiary education in Geology, Geochemistry or equivalent
  • 5+ years experience including extensive geological domain modelling utilising high volume of data
  • Strong proficiency in IOGAS
  • Strong proficiency in Leapfrog (or other stated preference)
  • Skills in GIS data management and integration with SQL database will be highly regarded
  • Proficient in MS Access, SQL, QGIS (highly favourable)
  • Field capabilities highly favourable
  • Valid drivers license and ability to pass site medical and induction requirements

Remuneration package will be negotiated commensurate with experience and includes significant exposure to company success through Employee Share Options.
