Industrial Relations (IR) Manager

Location: Eight Mile Plains Full-Time | Permanent

Your Role at a Glance

Reporting to the Head of People Experience, this pivotal role will lead enterprise bargaining, manage industrial frameworks, and ensure compliance with workplace law – all while building strong, respectful relationships with unions, employees, and internal stakeholders.

This is more than an IR role – it's an opportunity to strategically influence culture, engagement, and employee experience across a complex, values-driven organisation.

  • Develop and implement industrial relations strategies in line with organisational goals.
  • Lead and negotiate enterprise agreements and mange workplace consultations effectively.
  • Provide expert industrial relations and employment law advice to senior leaders and HR to guide strategic decision-making
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industrial laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement contemporary IR frameworks and policies that drive compliance, engagement, and a positive workplace culture.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with unions and other stakeholders
  • Prepare and deliver reports on industrial relations activities and outcomes

What You'll Bring to the Table

  • A strong background in industrial relations
  • A strong working knowledge of the Fair Work Act, NES, modern awards, and enterprise agreements
  • Proven success in enterprise bargaining and union engagement
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, conflict management, and relationship-building skills
  • Experience conducting BOOT assessments and managing remuneration structures
  • High-level governance knowledge and risk mitigation skills
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and lead through change
  • A collaborative approach to working with internal and external stakeholders.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Tertiary qualifications in Industrial Relations, Law, HR or a related field
  • Minimum 7+ years' experience in IR leadership roles, ideally within unionised and complex environments
  • Experience in health, aged care, disability, or community services i.e. working with SCHADS, Nurses, Professional Health Services Awards.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance – or be willing to obtain
  • Working with Children Check – or be willing to obtain
