About the Position:Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Draft scopes of works and tender packages to accompany requests for quotations issued to subcontractors for projects
  • Conduct initial investigations with subcontractors to clarify the organisations conditions relating to contracts
  • Provide assistance to the Procurement Lead and Package Lead in the negotiation of contract departures
  • Maintain a register of all subcontractors
  • Ensure cost forecasting for allocated subcontracts and cost codes are accurately maintained
  • Participate in identification and quantification of Head Contracts
  • Manage subcontractors to ensure the Code compliance is maintained at all times
  • Regularly assess commercial and contractual risks
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Engineering, Economics, Quantity Surveying, Law, Commerce or equivalent
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in relevant software packages such as Microsoft Suite (including Excel) and exposure to a contract management system (CRM)
  • 3-5 years' experience working as a Contracts Administrator or Quantity Surveyor, ideally with a Tier 1 Contractor
  • Experience with a variety of project values and complexity, ideally in the infrastructure environment (water, wastewater, highways, roads, rail, bridges, tunnelling etc),
  • Understanding of document control experience in accordance with records management procedures
  • Interpret and apply relevant legislation/code on the project to prevent potential business exposure
  • Experience in negotiating with sub-contractors
