About the Role

We are seeking skilled and experienced Male Disability Support Workers, to join our team in Wollongong, NSW. You will support people with disability living in their own home in Illawarra region, providing various supports including personal care and daily living.

The client you will be supporting require a range of support and so, successful candidates should be experienced and confident in working within a varied environment which may include high behaviours of concern (including high volume swearing), high medical needs and high intensity daily personal activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow person-centred support and behaviour plans
  • Provide assistance with High Intensity daily personal activities
  • Facilitate client goal achievement through meaningful activities
  • Maintain thorough record keeping
  • Build positive relationships with clients, families and colleagues
  • Advocate for client choice and control

Skills & Experience

  • Experience working with people with disability
  • Previous experience working behaviours of concern
  • Prior experience working with high medical needs
  • An unrestricted Australian driver's licence
  • A current First Aid and CPR Certificate

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $33.96 – $35.50 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week

Experience:

  • Working with people with developmental disabilities: 1 year (Preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • First Aid Certification (Required)
  • Working with Children Check (Required)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (Required)
  • National Police Certificate (Required)
  • Driver Licence (Required)

  • Australia (Required)
