Supports for Living is seeking experienced and passionate Disability Support Workers to join our Supported Independent Living (SIL) team in the Illawarra. We welcome applications from both qualified Support Workers and those willing to enrol in a Certificate III or higher in Disability Work.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing all aspects of personal care, including grooming, dressing, and hygiene support.
  • Preparing and cooking nutritious meals according to individual preferences and dietary needs.
  • Performing light housekeeping and household chores to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Offering assistance with mobility and daily living activities.
  • Supporting clients to access the community, attend appointments, and engage in social or recreational activities.
  • Promoting independence, dignity, and well-being at all times.

Selection Criteria

  • Certificate III (or higher) in Individual Support, Disability, or Aged Care – highly desirable.

OR currently enrolled or willing to enrol in a relevant qualification.

  • Previous experience in disability support work is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to work using person-centred practices.
  • Understanding of and/or experience with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Willingness to carry out all aspects of SIL home duties (personal care, cooking, cleaning, etc.).
  • Valid driver's licence and access to a reliable, fully insured vehicle.
  • Understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
  • Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
