Master Scheduler – Sydney basedContract: 6 months + 6 month extension options
Rate: $140 – $150 per hour (incl. Super)
Location: Sydney, NSW
Clearance requirement: NV1
About the Role We are seeking a highly experienced Master Scheduler to join a major program within the Federal Government. This is a critical scheduling role in a complex, fast-paced environment, requiring a senior professional with proven expertise in developing, managing, and optimising integrated project schedules.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring project milestones are accurately tracked, risks are visible, and decision-makers have clear insights to drive delivery outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, manage, and maintain complex Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) for multple programs.
- Build detailed, resource-loaded schedules that support program planning, execution, and reporting.
- Ensure schedules align with program objectives, governance frameworks, and contract deliverables.
- Conduct schedule risk analysis, identify critical path activities, and provide recovery/mitigation recommendations.
- Support program reporting requirements, providing schedule insights to project and executive leadership.
- Engage closely with Program Managers, Project Managers, engineers, and Defence stakeholders to ensure schedule accuracy and alignment.
Skills & Experience
- 10+ years' experience in Project Scheduling, with a strong preference for Defence or large-scale Government projects.
- Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Project (MSP) at an advanced level.
- Strong understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM), schedule risk analysis, and dependency management.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex schedule information to both technical and executive audiences.
- Experience working in fast-paced, high-pressure environments with competing priorities.
- Current or recent Defence experience highly desirable.
- Active NV1 or above security clearance strongly preferred.
