Payroll Officer | 6 Month Contract

What are we looking for?

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our team in Melbourne on an initial fixed term 6 month contract basis. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our employees. This is a crucial role that will have a direct impact on the well-being and satisfaction of our workforce.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees, including salary payments, tax and superannuation calculations, and leave entitlements
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure all payroll-related information is up-to-date
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, leave, and other entitlements
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare necessary reports
  • Payroll tax reconciliation and lodgement
  • Assist with the implementation of new payroll system and processes
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant payroll legislation and company policies
  • Experience with reconciling and processing superannuation contributions via clearing house
  • Experience in calculating and processing terminations and redundancy payments

What will you bring?

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a payroll officer or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processing and legislation, including taxation and superannuation
  • Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
  • Proficient in using payroll software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to liaise with employees at all levels
  • A proactive and organised approach to work
