Chef List of Duties & Responsibilities for The Marina Cafe, Church Point.

  • Prepares foods to the specifications of the customer as trained and advised by Head Chef - making adjustments to food items to accommodate guests with allergies or specific diet concerns
  • Manages other employees in the kitchen (Kitchen Hand)
  • Acts as liaison to front-of-house employees to ensure proper food service temperature
  • Operates various kitchen appliance such as a blender, oven, grill, slicer or stand mixer
  • Portions, arranges, and garnishes food based on client preference
  • Assists other cooks during the food assembly process
  • Prepares any necessary sauces or accompaniments before meal service begins
  • Cleans up after business hours
  • Communicates with Head Chef about how to improve meal service
  • Ensuring all their duties are being carried out to the fullest of their potential
  • Engaging in cooking and food preparation in the Café.
  • Ensuring the freshness of food items as well as food quality.
  • Ensuring all food-handling regulations are complied with by the staff and that safetyand sanitary requirements are met.
  • Cleans food preparation areas as determined by law and company policy
  • Checking quality of stock for freshness, weight, use by dates, etc. and communication of issues to Head Chef.
  • Communicating with the Head Chef on a regular basis regarding all stock levels.
  • Responsible for being aware of stock levels of fresh produce and other food items.
  • Ensuring the required stock levels are maintained

Salary: 76,515-$80,000

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $76,515.00 – $80,000.00 per year
