Talent Manager (Legal Recruitment & Development)
- a driven and strategic recruiter with a deep understanding of the legal industry, to help shape the next phase of our growth story. This role is ideal for someone from a legal recruitment or in-house talent background who wants to
build

a talent function from the ground up.
The Opportunity
You'll work directly with Partners and firm leadership to design and execute BlackBay's recruitment strategy, from mid-level lateral hires to graduate intakes. This is a rare opportunity to step into a high-growth environment and make your mark as the architect of our future team.
Core Responsibilities
1. Pipeline & Sourcing
- Build and maintain a live network of talented lawyers across litigation, employment, and defamation.
- Run direct sourcing campaigns through LinkedIn Recruiter, alumni groups, and targeted outreach.
- Develop long-term relationships with recruiters, universities, and professional associations.
- Track and nurture promising candidates even before roles open.
2. Recruitment Process
- Manage end-to-end recruitment, advertising, screening, interviews, and offers.
- Partner with practice heads to define role requirements and hiring priorities.
- Deliver an exceptional candidate experience from first contact to onboarding.
- Maintain recruitment metrics and weekly hiring pipeline reports.
3. Employer Branding
- Work with Marketing to promote BlackBay's brand as the destination for ambitious litigators.
- Curate content for the Careers page and LinkedIn, spotlighting team achievements, firm culture, and growth stories.
- Represent BlackBay at networking and university events to strengthen visibility in the market.
4. Talent Development
- Support the rollout of "The BlackBay Track" - our professional development and retention program.
- Coordinate onboarding, mentoring, and growth plans for new hires.
- Identify opportunities for internal promotions and lateral mobility.

Skills & Experience
- 2–5 years' experience in
legal recruitment
(agency or in-house), or professional services talent acquisition. - Demonstrated success sourcing and placing lawyers at the mid-senior level.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
- Organised, proactive, and commercially minded, you think about recruitment as a growth lever.
- Strong understanding of legal markets, candidate motivations, and employer branding.
- Bonus: experience in people development, onboarding, or HR operations.
