About us:

The Central Queensland Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service provides specialist mental health, substance, and alcohol related care to residents of Rockhampton, Yeppoon, Gladstone, Banana Shire (Biloela, Moura, Theodore) Woorabinda and Central Highlands districts and adult inpatients of the Central West Hospital and Health Service (catchments in excess of a population of 250,000).

Rockhampton is the principal service centre, hub, for this area and as such oversights the medical coverage, professional supervision of the medical officers and nurse practitioners, administration of the
Mental Health Act, 2016
, and support for accreditation and implementation of programs as well as acute inpatient facilities for the Central Queensland Mental Health teams and the ECT services.

About the role:

Provide high quality psychiatry services to consumers of the Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Service and provide clinical leadership for the Mental Health clinical team.

The position may also be required to provide services to: Gladstone, Biloela, Blackwater, Emerald and Moura Hospitals; Woorabinda Health Service and Outreach Clinic; Gemfields Outreach Clinic; Capricorn Coast Hospital and Health Service and Outreach Clinic, and the associated Mental Health clinics.

About you:

• The position requires a candidate with a solid background in psychiatric practice. The successful candidate will also demonstrate extensive skills in facilitating effective mental health care across the continuum of Psychiatry of Old Age inpatient and community settings and within a multidisciplinary environment.

• MBBS or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.

• Registration or eligibility for registration as a Specialist in Psychiatry with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA). In general, this will require Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP).
• Preference will be given to candidates who hold the Certificate in Psychiatry of Old Age or have an interest in Psychiatry of Old Age.
• Eligibility for accreditation as a RANZCP-approved supervisor.
• Enrolment and maintenance of ongoing CME program with the appropriate bodies.

Total remuneration value of up to $528,432 p.a. is comprised of:

• A salary rate between $251,527 - $266,677 p.a. (L25-L27)
• A salary rate between $210,332 - $244,313 p.a. (L18-L24)
• 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
