About Us:
Taranganba State School, situated on Taranganba Road in the coastal township of Yeppoon is on the Capricorn Coast in Central Queensland. Yeppoon is in the Rockhampton Regional Council and is part of the Fitzroy-Central West Queensland Region of Education Queensland. Taranganba State School is proud to be one of the nine schools in the Capricorn Coast Cluster.
The school now boasts a number of facilities including an innovative digital teaching and learning centre - The Hub, along with a Performing Arts Centre. These facilities have allowed the school to enrich the curriculum and learning opportunities for our students.
The Taranganba school staff is committed to working in partnership with parents and the wider community to meet the needs of all of our students. Engagement teachers work with classroom teachers to support inclusive practices across the school working in classrooms with children and teachers.
About the Role:
This role will include coaching, mentoring and capacity to model evidence based practices for staff and deliver achievement outcomes for all students. Through analysis and focus on data the Head of Department (Curriculum) will assist in informing the leadership team to develop a clear and consistent approach to curriculum delivery, moderation and assessment.
The successful applicant will drive the delivery of a responsive and vibrant curriculum for students from P -6.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
- Lead and Inspire Learning: Drive curriculum and whole-school programs to achieve a shared educational vision focused on quality outcomes for all students.
- Promote Equity and Excellence: Embed socially just practices and set high standards for both student achievement and staff performance.
- Engage in Continuous Growth: Model lifelong learning through active participation in ongoing professional and personal development.
- Build Strong Partnerships: Collaborate effectively with students, parents, staff, community organisations, and government agencies.
- Lead Strategically and Responsibly: Apply legislative and policy knowledge to strategically manage human, financial, facility, and curriculum resources for future-focused school success.
