About The Role
The Business Coordination Officer within the Business Services team is responsible for managing and delivering a range of customer-focussed liaison, correspondence and administrative services within DSD.
The Business Coordination Officer will coordinate and review briefing materials for the Chief Executive and Ministers, meet critical deadlines, and provide accurate and timely advice to relevant stakeholders in a professional manner.
As a Business Coordination Officer, You Will
- Coordinate and review Chief Executive and Ministers' briefings and draft responses to ensure documents are of the highest quality and consistent with required standards and protocols.
- Manage and monitor the shared mailbox, coordinate and adjust workload according to changing priorities, and take appropriate action to escalate urgent and critical issues.
- Provide accurate and timely advice to business units relating to protocols and templates to ensure compliance with government policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships and provide exceptional customer service to stakeholders to ensure responsiveness with the aim of meeting or exceeding timeframes.
- Ensure effective and accurate records management and maintenance of correspondence records in the departmental Electronic Document and Records Management System, in accordance with departmental policy and procedure.
- Provide support to deliver a range of business support services in line with Business Services' core functions and responsibilities and undertake minor project work to contribute to the efficient delivery of business outcomes.
Key Competencies
To apply and succeed in the role, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in managing and delivering administrative functions to senior government officers in a politically sensitive environment.
- Experience in the coordination of correspondence that meets government requirements and stakeholder expectations, including utilising a high level of time management, organisational skills and professionalism.
- Sound knowledge of business management functions and processes within government agencies, including administrative policies and procedures.
- High-level proficiency and experience in the use of a range of software applications, particularly records management systems and Microsoft Office.
Remuneration
Competitive salary ASO4 $76,561 to $80,256 p.a. plus superannuation

Qualifications
- Essential: Nil
- Desirable: Diploma level qualification in a field relevant to the position, and/or substantial relevant professional experience.
Special Conditions
- The role will be offered full-time (1.0 FTE) ongoing basis for up to 24 months.
- Satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check (NPC).
