About the role
The Business Support Officer works as a part of the Secretariat of the Child Death and Serious Injury Review Committee (the Committee). The Committee is an independent, statutory body that reports directly to the Minister for Education and contributes to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people in South Australia, including conducting in-depth reviews of deaths, identifying trends and patterns.
The Business Support Officer coordinates a range of administrative functions to support both the work of the Committee and the work of the Oversight and Advocacy Authority for Aboriginal Infants, Children and Young People (the Authority). The Authority is responsible for analysing systems and processes in a culturally safe environment in a way that considers Aboriginal ways of understanding when reviewing the death of, or serious injury to, Aboriginal infants, children and young people.
The Committee and Authority work together to review the circumstances and causes of death or serious injury to children and young people and make recommendations for changes to legislation, policies, procedures or practices to relevant agencies to help prevent similar deaths or serious injuries.
Qualifications
Essential: Nil.
Desirable: Relevant tertiary qualification.
Special conditions
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.
The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration
ASO4 $76,561 - $80,256 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (12%) and leave loading
