About the role:

Invest SA facilitates investment into South Australia by connecting investors and companies with opportunities, industry networks, and other government agencies in South Australia across a range of industry sectors.

The Investment Support team enhances the sector teams' client-facing activities by providing solutions that involve the production of specialised tools, content and activities that assist in conveying a compelling investment attraction, message, activation or strategy.

The role of the Events and Marketing Coordinator is to support the planning and delivery of marketing and events as part of the Department of State Development's (DSD) strategic program of Investment activities, communications, inbound delegations, and other events.

The role is designed to support event / project management, venue selection, budget preparation, development of marketing activity to effectively promote DSD projects and key priorities, liaison with key stakeholders and invitee list coordination.

More specifically, you will:

  • Deliver event coordination support for DSD's program of events and initiatives as directed.
  • Support the development of creative concepts for events, producing branded event materials.
  • Participate in meetings, decision making and evaluation processes, maintaining information flows between key stakeholders in the department.
  • Assist in establishing a strong evidence base (market research, response tracking and analysis) for all events.
  • Undertake post event responsibilities including issuing timely communications, compiling program feedback, processing invoices, and budget reconciliation.
  • Liaise, advise, and consult with a wide range of contractors, agencies and external suppliers to ensure the delivery of services to required standards within deadlines and within budget.
  • Support the promotion of integrated marketing activity and consistent messaging across the departments' various communications.

Key Competencies:

Essential Technical Experience and Knowledge:

  • Experience in project delivery and the coordination of events and evaluating events and sponsorships.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining effective networks, alliances and operational relationships with internal and external clients and stakeholders.
  • Understanding and experience in using event management (EventsAir/OnAir) and marketing (Mailchimp) software, in addition to digital marketing and social media
  • Knowledge of Government event promotion and sponsorship guidelines and protocols, including approvals and reporting processes incorporating marketing best practice, theory and up-to-date principles.

Personal Skills:

  • Proven ability to establish and maintain consultative and effective working relationships, with internal and external stakeholders to the department.
  • Proven high level written and oral communication and presentation skills, which enable effective communication with a broad range of people.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time, objectives, and priorities; to plan, organise, implement, progress, and coordinate concurrent and responsive projects to meet objectives.

Remuneration:

Competitive salary (ASO4: $76,561 to 80,256 max pa) plus superannuation

Qualifications:

  • Essential: Nil
  • Desirable: Tertiary qualifications in Event Management, Marketing or equivalent

  • A Satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check (NPC) will be required prior to employment.
