About The Role
The Assessment Officer contributes to the delivery of the State Government skilled, employer sponsored and business migration programs by assessing and finalising decisions across a range of application stream.
The role makes evidence -based decisions in line with established criteria and prepared decisions records that comply with record management responsibilities. The Assessment Office also ensure client enquiries are response to in a timely and appropriate manner.
Key Competencies
To apply and succeed in the role, you will have:
- Undertake the assessment and decisions for all Skilled and Business Migration application streams in accordance with established policy, ensuring compliance with internal and SA Government record keeping.
- Integrate information from a range of sources and exercise judgement and objective assessment, to inform good decision making.
- Provide excellent customer service by providing accurate, timely, consistent and appropriate information in a professional manner
- Provide ongoing improvement suggestions to the assessment framework and operational instructions.
- High levels of data integrity are maintained, and records and information are managed in accordance with departmental policy and procedure.
- Contribute to the preparation of clear, concise reports and ministerial correspondence.
- Considers assessment criteria and makes first level decisions on applications aligned to established criteria.
- Undertakes thorough research and prepares relevant information on applications requiring escalation where there is a significant degree of ambiguity or conditions.
- Coordinate, contribute to and deliver projects and initiatives in line with project deliverables, timelines and budgets to support team activities and inform decision-making.
Remuneration
Competitive salary ASO4 $76,561 to $80,256 p.a. plus superannuation

Qualifications
- Essential: Nil
- Desirable: Territory qualification in commerce, economics, business, international relations or similar.
Special Conditions
- The role will be offered full-time (1.0 FTE) initially for 12 months.
- Satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check (NPC) and Working With Children's Check (WWCC) required prior to employment.
