We are currently seeking applications for an Assistant Procurement Advisor, to join the Commercial and Procurement Branch at The Department of Treasury & Finance for a period of 12 months.

Remuneration: ASO4 – Salary Range ($76,561 - $80,256 p.a.)

About the opportunity:

The Assistant Procurement Advisor is accountable to the Principal Procurement Advisor, Strategic Sourcing, for providing support to Senior Procurement Advisor's and the Reporting Advisor.

The Assistant Procurement Advisor will be required to support the Senior Procurement Advisor's in delivering the planned strategic sourcing activities. The Assistant Procurement Advisor will also be required to support the Reporting Advisor in administering and ensuring that the team effectively use the available systems (Procurement Activity Reporting System (PARS) and Procurement Contract Management System (PCMS)).

About you

To be successful you will be:

  • A proactive and organised individual with a keen interest in government procurement and contract management.
  • Able to support procurement processes including sourcing, documentation, reporting, and supplier engagement under guidance.
  • Familiar with procurement policies and procedures, including Treasurer's Instruction 18 and the South Australian Government Procurement Framework.
  • Comfortable using digital systems such as PARS and PCMS to manage procurement and contract data.
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Office applications, including (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Committed to upholding probity, transparency, and value-for-money principles in all procurement activities.
  • A clear communicator who can collaborate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Capable of managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Willing to contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline processes and enhance procurement outcomes.
  • Enthusiastic about developing your skills and knowledge in procurement through training and on-the-job experience.
  • Supportive of DTF's strategic objectives, including sustainability, inclusion, and local industry participation.
