About The Role

This role supports the 24/7 operational readiness and rapid emergency response capabilities of the Energy Security and Emergency Management Branch, contributing to planning, activation, and coordination before, during and after emergencies. It involves monitoring energy sector risks, assisting with consequence management across electricity, gas, fuel, water and wastewater, and supporting staff deployed to emergency operations centres to support incident coordination.

The position also supports some of our key roles in maintaining and testing emergency management plans, delivering training and exercises under the Energy Security & Emergency Management Annual Preparedness Program, and fostering collaboration with internal teams, utility providers, emergency services and government stakeholders to ensure integrated and effective response and recovery operations.

Your proactive and organised approach will ensure you can set your own priorities, manage competing deadlines, and make day-to-day decisions to keep work moving. Your ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders will also help to ensure smooth operations under pressure.
