Central Station Lodge T/A 790 on George is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Accommodation and Hospitality Manager to lead our vibrant team in the heart of Sydney.

We are a medium-sized city backpackers, catering to a diverse community of youth travelers.

Known as one of the friendliest hostels in Sydney, we pride ourselves on offering outstanding customer service, accessibility, and memorable guest experiences – all at a budget price.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional who is passionate about hospitality and tourism, and eager to contribute to the growth and success of an established business.

Key Responsibilities

 Oversee daily operations across guest services, housekeeping, finance, sales & marketing, compliance, and maintenance of the facilities.

 Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate staff to deliver excellent service standards.

 Ensure a welcoming, safe, and enjoyable environment for all guests.

 Manage bookings, administration, and reporting using Microsoft Office and (ideally) MEWS.

 Engage with guests, resolve issues promptly, and maintain high levels of satisfaction.

 Promote the business through online travel agents (OTAs) and relevant social platforms.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will:

 Be a quick learner, proactive problem solver, and genuine "people person."

 Bring at least 1–2 years of experience in a customer-facing managerial role within hospitality or accommodation.

 Have strong leadership, customer service, and communication skills.

 Demonstrate confidence in administration and staff supervision.

 Hold a minimum of an AQF Diploma (or higher) in Hospitality/Hotel Management or a related field.

 Have excellent spoken and written English skills.

Additional Requirements

  • Must have ongoing work rights in Australia and be available for an immediate start.
  • Availability to work weekends is essential.
  • Seeking a long-term, full-time career opportunity.
  • Australian citizens and permanent residents will be given preference.
