Your Role:

As a Career & Internship Program (CIP) Coordinator, this position is responsible for coordinating and facilitating career development programming for international students. This includes fostering relationships with local organizations, ensuring the smooth operation of CIP offerings, which may include the Global Internship Program, Global Business Consulting Program and Community-Engaged Global Learning course, and coaching students through their professional development journey. As well as the work you undertake locally, you will collaborate closely with the global CIP team to ensure a high-quality, professional, and educational experience for all students.

What You'll Do:

  • Internship Coordination:
    • Collaborate with local and global CIP colleagues to advise and support CIP students throughout all phases of the student journey.
    • Facilitate experiential placements by matching students with appropriate host organisations, based on experience (academic and personal), interests, and goals.
    • Oversee student progress, providing ongoing support and mentorship to help them consider their learning objectives for the program and achieve personal and professional development. 
    • Support on-site management in evaluating and assessing the effectiveness of CIP programs and making improvements where necessary.
  • Employer Relations & Business Development:
    • Utilise business development techniques, including but not limited to, lead generation, networking in the local community and portfolio growth to build and develop our partnership database, ensuring we have a diverse range of opportunities.
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with local host organisations.
    • Advise and assist host companies in understanding their role and responsibilities when partnering with CEA CAPA on a CIP program. 
    • Ensure that host organisations are supported throughout the partnership to provide a productive experience. 
    • Evaluate and assess the effectiveness of host organisation partnerships, making improvements where necessary.
  • Student Support:
    • Conduct student orientations and assist with the design and delivery of career development workshops and presentations as needed.
    • Monitor and evaluate student experiences and provide support and advice to students on career development & professional skills.
    • Engage with and manage stakeholder relationships throughout the program. 
    • Be part of the local emergency management and response team, holding the Sydney emergency phone on a rotation basis, responding to student emergencies.
  • Administrative and Operational Support:
    • Maintain accurate databases of host organisations, student placements, and evaluations.
    • Utilise program data to create program reports and provide feedback to internal colleagues and external stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with Academic teams & faculty to support the successful running of experiential courses.
    • Participate in CEA CAPA events such as student arrival and departure activities and other social or professional events.
    • Support the organization in providing program overviews and site visits to visiting institutions.
    • Custom program management, taking the lead on managing specific programs at peak times of the year.
  • Global Team Collaboration:
    • Work closely with international colleagues, teams and CIP Leadership to ensure program alignment and consistency across multiple locations.
    • Contribute to the design, development and implementation of projects and best practices across the global CIP community

What Makes a Great Candidate:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
    • Additional qualifications or experience in talent acquisition, internship coordination, or student support is a plus.
  • Desirable Experience:
    • First-hand experience with study abroad programs or working with international students.
    • Experience in professional development, internship coordination, or higher education settings.
    • Knowledge of U.S. higher education systems and employability skills for undergraduates.
  • Languages:
    • Fluent in English (both written and spoken). 
    • Knowledge of languages other than English an advantage.

  • Empathy and Support: Strong sense of empathy and commitment to student welfare, with a professional but approachable demeanour.
