Position Purpose

As a Senior Speech Pathologist at Nexia Health Care, you will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping and delivering high-quality, evidence-based therapy services to children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental and communication needs.

In addition to maintaining a clinical caseload, this role provides the opportunity to influence and develop the future of clinical service delivery, contributing to the design of service models, clinical resources, and processes that enhance both client outcomes and clinician experience. You will supervise and mentor early career Speech Pathologists, support recruitment and onboarding initiatives, and collaborate closely with management and operations to drive innovation and efficiency across our growing national network.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Practice

·       Treat all patients with care and compassion respecting their dignity.

·       Contribute professional expertise to the development, monitoring and review Nexia Health Care's Model of Care to enhance independence and quality of life for individual clients.

·       Maintain an active clinical caseload, with a focus on conducting comprehensive speech, language, communication, and feeding assessments, and providing ongoing management for children and adolescents.

·       Develop and implement personalised, goal-oriented, evidence-based therapy plans across clinic, home, school, and community settings.

·       Collaborate with families and caregivers to establish meaningful goals and implement strategies that promote communication, participation, and independence.

·       Clinical hours per day/week will be adjusted according to supervision, service development, and team support responsibilities. There are no fixed billable KPI targets, allowing for balanced and purposeful engagement across leadership and clinical functions.

Clinical Supervision & Leadership

·       Lead by delivering goal-oriented, therapy intervention programs through Nexia Health Care's Model of Care

·       Provide clinical supervision, mentorship, and professional guidance to early career Speech Pathologists.

·       Support clinicians in reflective practice, skill development, and the delivery of best-practice, client-centred interventions aligned with Nexia's clinical excellence framework.

·       Facilitate peer supervision, internal training sessions, and case reviews to build capability and confidence within the team.

Service Development & Quality Improvement

·       Develop and implement clinical resources, therapy templates, and service models that strengthen consistency, quality, and client outcomes.

·       Identify and drive opportunities for continuous service improvement and innovation across programs and clinics.

·       Promote the value of integrated, multidisciplinary care and foster collaboration between clinical disciplines.

·       Partner with management and operations teams to create greater efficiencies in clinical delivery, documentation, and client experience.

Marketing and Public Relationships

·       Assist in identifying and developing new client/ new avenues for service for the clinic

·       Develop all attending and prospective clients into long term quality clients

·       Be actively aware of referrals through existing clientele

·       Be actively nurturing relationships with clients and referring partners

·       Assist the occupational therapist in promoting the services within our organisation

Team Growth & Workforce Development

·       Support the hiring, onboarding, training, and professional development of new clinicians.

·       Contribute to the clinical offboarding process to ensure continuity of care and knowledge retention.

·       Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive clinical culture that values collaboration, wellbeing, and excellence.

Multidisciplinary Collaboration

·       Work closely with Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, and Allied Health Assistants to deliver coordinated, holistic care.

·       Collaborate with educators and schools to provide strategies, training, and consultative support for neurodiverse students.

·       Participate in joint case conferences, planning sessions, and multidisciplinary initiatives that strengthen client outcomes and service integration.

Professional Standards & Reporting

·       Maintain accurate, clear, and timely clinical documentation and reports.

·       Uphold ethical and professional standards in accordance with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) and relevant legislation.

·       Ensure all work aligns with Nexia Health Care's clinical governance and quality assurance frameworks.

·       Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to clinical research, evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

·       Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology.

·       Current membership with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA).

·       Minimum 4 years of clinical experience, preferably in paediatric or neurodevelopmental settings.

·       Demonstrated experience in supervision, mentoring, or clinical leadership.

·       Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.

·       Commitment to evidence-based, client-centred, and multidisciplinary practice.
