About L9 Fitness

L9 is a fast-growing bodyweight & calisthenics training group with gyms in Melbourne and the Gold Coast. We're building our operations team and need a reliable finance person to take ownership of bookkeeping and compliance.

The Role

We're looking for an experienced Bookkeeper or BAS Agent (Contractor) to join the L9 Fitness team. This is a part-time contractor role for approx. 4–8 hours per week, mostly remote with a regular weekly team meeting. The workload will be heavier in the first 4–6 weeks as you help set up systems, and over time the role is likely to expand as we continue to grow our operations.

This is a hands-on execution role, not an advisory role. Terence and the team are financially savvy and will direct what needs doing. Your job is to action tasks efficiently, consistently, and reliably.

What You'll Do

  • Set up Payroll from scratch — onboarding staff, ensuring compliance, running regular pay cycles.
  • Set up & manage bank and Stripe reconciliations in Xero.
  • Manage accounts payable (leases, landlords, suppliers).
  • Handle superannuation and BAS/IAS compliance (preferred if BAS registered).
  • Deliver simple weekly and monthly financial performance reports (cashflow, revenue by site, key expenses).
  • Take care of the paperwork and admin side of finance so our operations run smoothly.

About You

  • Strong Xero experience (essential).
  • Confident in setting up payroll systems and managing ongoing payroll.
  • Able to set up and maintain reconciliations accurately.
  • Detail-oriented, reliable, and execution-focused — you get things done.
  • Ideally BAS Agent registered (or working under one).
  • ABN holder, able to invoice for hours.
