As a Contracts and Safety Management Coordinator, you'll have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the health and safety of the University of Melbourne community. You'll provide comprehensive OHS advice, coordinate support services, and implement crucial policies across various campus management functions. This role offers you the chance to develop your expertise in health and safety management while working with diverse stakeholders in a dynamic university environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide Expert OHS Advice: Offer comprehensive health and safety guidance to staff, workplace managers, and stakeholders across the university.

  • Coordinate Safety Initiatives: Assist in implementing and managing local health and safety systems and processes across various portfolios.

  • Monitor Compliance: Participate in and report on compliance and quality assurance management, ensuring adherence to university policies and legal requirements.

  • Support Continuous Improvement: Identify and deliver sustainable process improvements in health and safety management across all areas of accountability.

You may be a great fit if:

You are a dedicated professional with tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, possessing strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

You may also:

  • Have tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.

  • Possess demonstrated knowledge of health and safety and relevant legislative requirements.

  • Have excellent communication skills to engage with a broad range of staff and contractors.

  • Be experienced with certified health and safety management systems such as ISO45001.

  • Have strong report writing skills and the ability to deliver health and safety reports.

  • Be capable of working both independently and as part of a team to achieve results.
