The CGED Project is a collaborative conservation initiative between Melbourne Zoo and the ACT Government to expand the captive breeding colony of the critically endangered Canberra Grassland Earless Dragon. As Project Manager, you will oversee the grant requirements and reporting including - planning, procurement, and delivery of modular infrastructure and breeding facilities to ensure operational handover, ensuring alignment with project milestones and conservation goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administrating the government funding requirements, conditions and reporting
  • Coordinate end-to-end delivery of modular buildings and support facilities
  • Manage procurement, contractor engagement, and project governance
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure timely recruitment and facility setup
  • Monitor project risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Ensure compliance with safety, reporting, and financial requirements

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Qualifications in Project Management or relevant field or demonstrated project management experience
  • Experience in infrastructure delivery and contractor management
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Knowledge of procurement, OH&S, and conservation project delivery
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
