About the Role

We're seeking a motivated and enthusiastic 
Club Operations Intern
 to join our team and gain hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of football operations. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a VFL club during a period of momentum and renewal, working alongside experienced staff and industry professionals.

You'll assist with the day-to-day running of the club's Football and Operations departments — helping improve operational efficiency, supporting match day delivery, and contributing to a professional and enjoyable experience for players, staff, and fans.

Previous interns at Coburg have gone on to secure full-time roles within the sports industry soon after completing their placement. Through this internship, you'll 
grow your professional network, gain exposure to a live football environment
, and develop skills that are directly relevant to careers in sports management, operations, and administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the daily operations of both the Football and Club Operations departments.
  • Take ownership of and 
    remodel the club's ticketing and membership logistics
     to streamline efficiency.
  • Assist with 
    match day logistics
    , including setup, coordination, and pack-down.
  • Contribute ideas and initiatives to 
    enhance the match day experience
     for members, fans, and community partners.
  • Provide administrative and organisational support to the Football Manager and broader operations team.
  • Collaborate with staff and volunteers to deliver club events and community initiatives.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a small, dynamic team environment.
  • A proactive and adaptable attitude, willing to take initiative.
  • Availability to assist on 
    match days (weekends)
     and selected training nights.
  • A desire to gain hands-on experience in 
    sports operations, management, and event delivery
    .

This is a 
volunteer position
 designed for students or emerging sports professionals seeking practical experience in a live football environment. You'll play an active role in supporting the club's continued growth — and be part of an exciting new era at Coburg City Oval.
