About the roleThe School Transport Precincts Officer is a new and exciting role with a focus to:
- Develop a School Precincts Framework with innovative infrastructure and engagement approaches to improve school zones and support sustainable transport for families.
- Deliver the Framework through pilot projects, prioritisation tools, and targeted works that make active travel to school safer and more attractive.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to align precinct priorities with broader transport strategies, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet community needs.
- Qualification in transport planning, engineering, urban design, architecture, or similar (or equivalent experience).
- Experience managing transport or urban projects from planning to delivery, on time and within budget.
- Skilled in engaging with the community and working with different stakeholders.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience in active transport (walking, cycling, traffic calming, placemaking).
- Experience working in government, with understanding of policies, regulations, and project governance.
- Strong skills in analysis, communication, reporting, and presenting.
