You will drive the critical back end of the business, dispatching orders through our Architectural Division in a timely fashion, managing the warehouse inventory and working in conjunction with the Trade Division team.

A snapshot of what this looks like:

The successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the Architectural Division's warehousing, including managing inventory, shipping and receiving processes.

You will be responsible for the accurate processing of carpet orders (2mtre roll and tile) requiring excellent attention to detail. Goods handling will involve driving forklift (palletised goods) or hand trolleying ( 2m carpet rolls).

You will provide warehousing support and other warehouse duties across the two Divisions within our Brendale warehouse and when necessary, assist with various warehousing duties in our Trade Division.

This is a physical role which requires the following attributes:

  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management: Maintaining accurate records of all inventory, including responsibility for stocktakes for the Architectural Division and the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods.

  • Order Processing: Efficient and timely fulfillment of orders of carpet rolls and carpet tiles.
  • Shipping and Receiving: Coordinating the scheduling and execution of incoming and outgoing shipments, and providing support to the Trade Division in this area.
  • Warehouse Operations: Managing the day-to-day activities of the warehouse, ensuring efficient work processes, proper storage, and adherence to safety protocols.  Ensuring that the warehouse is well maintained and clean.
  • Organisation: Creating a structured role for duties to be performed and coordinating warehouse assistance where necessary. Providing guidance to management to ensure efficient operations.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining accurate records of inventory movements, processing orders, and processing scheduled stocktake reports.
  • Problem Solving: Addressing issues and challenges that arise in the warehouse, collaborating with other departments to find solutions.
  • System Utilization: Using the company's warehouse management systems (WMS) and other software to track inventory, manage operations, and automate tasks.

About You

You will be someone with energy and enthusiasm that has a good understanding of warehouse and stores operations. The capacity to inject your initiative into the role, will require a can-do attitude and at your core you work ethically and with dependability.

  • Skills and Qualifications:

  • Qualifications: Warehouse III certificate or equivalent experience is highly desirable. Current forklift licence is essential.

  • Computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Attention to Detail: Maintain accurate inventory records and manage the flow of goods.
  • Organization: Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and work autonomously, and draw on team assistance where necessary
  • Self-motivated: Able to work unsupervised and to structure workflow in order to complete the various duties within a day's work.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Able to interact effectively with staff, customers, and suppliers, as well as resolving issues.
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Identify and resolve issues that arise in the warehouse.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficient in using Microsoft and other software.
  • Physical Stamina: Parts of the role requires the ability to lift up to 25kg and stand for extended periods.
  • Team Player: Work as a team player, work well under pressure and be respectful of all deadlines.
