
Dean of Academics and Future Pathways Full-time Commencing Term 1 2026

As the Dean of Academics & Future Pathways, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and enhancing both student wellbeing and academic performance across the College. Reporting directly to the Head of Secondary School, you will provide strategic oversight of academic administration, compliance, student achievement, and future pathways, ensuring the highest standards of academic excellence and integrity. With responsibility for timetabling, assessment calendars, examinations, and academic data, you will drive evidence-based approaches to teaching, learning, and student progress.
Central to the role is leadership in future pathways and academic services—guiding course selections, managing transitions, and fostering collaborative programs with other Colleges. You will oversee staff and teams, including the Future Pathways Co-ordinator and Heads of Department, while ensuring alignment with SCSA requirements and national compliance standards. Through proactive data analysis, mentoring, and case management of students at academic risk, you will help every student access personalised academic and career pathways.
This is a fulltime (1.0 FTE) leadership position, commencing 2026. It will include both a teaching component (up to 0.2 FTE) and a position allowance (0.8 FTE). The role offers scope to influence and shape academic culture and practice at the College, while working closely with academic and pastoral leaders to embed progressive pedagogy and continuous improvement
The successful applicant will have:
- Significant experience in the education of secondary school students, with demonstrated leadership in academic curriculum and pedagogy.
- Strong knowledge of compliance requirements, SCSA standards, and academic registration guidelines.
- Proven ability to analyse data, implement strategies, and provide academic mentoring to support student growth.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing staff, building teams, and guiding future pathways initiatives.
- High-level communication and interpersonal skills to engage students, staff, and parents.
- A Bachelor of Education or equivalent, with postgraduate qualifications highly regarded.
- Current National Police Clearance, TRBWA Registration and Working with Children check (or ability to obtain).
