We're seeking a Temporary Part-Time Administration Officer (56 hours per fortnight, including 24-hour shift work) to join the Women & Birthing team at Redland Hospital, Bayside Health Service, where you'll provide vital administrative support to ensure smooth operations and exceptional care.
Your new role:
As the Administration Officer, you'll play a key role in supporting the Women & Birthing team by ensuring efficient service delivery and smooth day-to-day operations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing patient bookings, waiting lists, admissions and referral information with accuracy and care.
- Responding to enquiries via phone, email and in-person, providing excellent customer service to patients, staff and visitors.
- Updating and maintaining patient records across key hospital systems, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Running reports and preparing documentation to support clinicians and service delivery.
- Coordinating front-of-house duties such as greeting visitors and distributing mail.
- Supporting the Midwifery Unit Manager and wider team with general administrative tasks.

To succeed in this role, you will bring a strong mix of customer service focus, teamwork and attention to detail. You'll demonstrate this with:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a busy, multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proven accuracy and efficiency in data entry and use of information systems/databases.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant hospital systems (e.g. HBCIS, ieMR, Powerchart).
- Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism and delivering a high-quality service to patients and staff.
