Chef – Follow The Leader Café (Ripponlea)

Full-Time Position | Salary: $76,000-$80,000+ per annum (commensurate with experience)

Follow The Leader Café, a well-established and highly regarded venue located in the heart of Ripponlea, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Chef to join our dynamic team.

We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, seasonal dishes in a welcoming and community-focused environment. This role presents an excellent opportunity for a skilled chef to contribute to a respected café known for its commitment to fresh, innovative food and exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation and cooking of all menu items for breakfast and lunch service.
  • Ensure consistent quality, presentation, and portion control in all dishes.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement new menu items and seasonal specials.
  • Maintain compliance with food safety standards and hygiene procedures.
  • Manage stock levels, ordering, and minimisation of waste.
  • Supervise and support kitchen team members to ensure efficient daily operations.

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 years' experience in a similar chef or café kitchen role.
  • Proven ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
  • Strong knowledge of modern café cuisine and current food trends.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
  • Food Safety Certification and a sound understanding of workplace health and safety regulations.
