About the role

Bella Vista Cafe', a well-established and popular cafe located in the North Head Manly Sanctuary, is seeking a skilled Sous Chef / Chef de Partie to join our passionate and dedicated culinary team. This is a full-time role offering the opportunity to be part of an exciting and dynamic kitchen environment, contributing to the creation of our Italian inspired, seasonally driven menus.

What you'll be doing

  • Assisting the Head Chef in the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, and plating of dishes
  • Ensuring consistently high-quality food is delivered to our customers, in line with Bella Vista Cafe's standards
  • Collaborating with the kitchen team to develop new menu items and refine existing dishes
  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient work environment
  • Adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to junior kitchen staff

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Sous Chef or Chef de Partie in a fast-paced, high-quality restaurant or cafe environment
  • Sufficient knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and plating presentation
  • Strong time management and multitasking skills to handle the demands of a busy kitchen
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and provide leadership to junior staff
  • Passion for creating delicious, visually appealing dishes using high-quality, fresh ingredients
  • Adaptability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications in culinary arts or hospitality
