We are looking for an energetic and ambitious sous chef to join our team at Kid Kyoto.

A fun and exciting opportunity exists for a motivated Sous Chef with a passion to join us.

You will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen with the Head chef, preparation and production of our menu dishes, whilst mentoring our driven kitchen team at Kid Kyoto.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Executing food preparation, cooking, and presentation with high standards & consistency.
  • Adhering to all NSW Food Safety and WHS regulations, with strong focus on maintaining a clean & organised work stations.
  • Assisting the Head Chef in all kitchen operations and management.
  • Work on various stations as required (hot, cold, grill)
  • Manage inventory, stock control, and food ordering to minimize waste.
  • Lead, mentor, and train junior kitchen staff, including casual employees
  • Contribute to menu planning, development, and recipe creation.

How you'll be successful:

  • Previous role as a sous chef / junior sous in a similar, quality restaurant environment.
  • Meticulous in maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen environment, with a deep knowledge of food safety regulations.
  • Strong culinary & communication skills.
  • A self-motivated professional with a proactive approach, keen ability to use your own initiative.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and maintain attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and a strong work ethics
