What You'll Do
- Translate business strategy into technology, data, and AI architecture roadmaps. Prioritise architecture initiatives and BAU optimisations to maximise value across WaterNSW. Collaborate with Digital Transformation, Delivery, and PMO teams to align architecture priorities with program delivery schedules.
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of enterprise architecture principles, frameworks, and standards. Oversee the development of reference architectures, patterns, and reusable asset.
- Maintain the AI Register and roadmap, ensuring initiatives are prioritised, funded, and aligned with strategy. Oversee business cases and risk/privacy/ethics assessments, and coordinate with Finance, PMO, and the Digital, Cyber & AI Risk Advisor to track remediation, close audit actions, and provide regular assurance reporting to governance forums.
- Provide architectural guidance to project teams, ensuring new initiatives comply with enterprise architecture and optimisation goals. Oversee technical due diligence for projects, including solution feasibility, integration, and alignment with standards.
- Support compliance with security, data, and regulatory requirements across projects and BAU. Chair and coordinate Architecture Review Board (ARB) and other governance forums to ensure consistent decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to improve architecture practices, tools, and processes. Champion the adoption of emerging technologies, data strategies, and AI solutions where they add measurable value. Embed lessons learned from project delivery and BAU activities to strengthen architectural decision-making.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior business and technology leaders, influencing strategic decision-making through architectural insights. Partner with the business to understand strategic priorities and ensure solutions meet business, regulatory, and customer requirements.
- Lead and mentor a team of enterprise, solution, and domain architects, fostering a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovation. Build organisational capability in architecture, and strategic planning.
What We Are Looking For
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, or related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) & evidence of continuous professional development in digital strategy, enterprise architecture, or technology leadership.
- In-depth knowledge of enterprise architecture principles, frameworks, methodologies and strong understanding of application, integration, data, and infrastructure domains, including cloud & hybrid environments.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies (cloud-native, API-led integration, AI/ML, IoT) & their strategic impact and deep understanding of enterprise architecture, cloud, applications, integration, data, AI, and security landscapes.
- Experience influencing and advising executives and senior stakeholders on technology strategy.
- Experience in rationalising, optimising, and consolidating complex technology environment & working within both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies, with the ability to adapt architectural guidance to suit different project delivery approaches.
- Current NSW Drivers Licence.
