Account Manager – Commercial Doors

Location:
Sydney – Western Suburbs, field-based

Company Overview

Representing one of Australia's most respected names in aluminium partitioning systems, sliding door systems, and commercial door hardware, this long-established, family-owned organisation has built its reputation on quality, reliability, and innovation. Their products are specified by leading builders, architects, and fit-out contractors for use across commercial offices, education facilities, healthcare institutions, multi-residential complexes, and industrial projects nationwide.

Proudly recognised as a Great Place to Work (GPTW ANZ 2024–2025) and listed among HRD's Best Places to Work 2024–2025, the business offers a genuinely collaborative environment that values its people, promotes professional growth, and invests heavily in employee development.

The Opportunity

A fantastic opportunity now exists for a driven Account Manager to join the Sydney team, focusing on commercial door and partitioning solutions. Acting as the key relationship manager for a diverse portfolio of clients, you'll work closely with builders, architects, and fit-out contractors to deliver exceptional service, resolve technical queries, and grow revenue across existing and new business channels.

Based primarily in the Sydney western suburbs office, this role blends relationship management, technical sales, and project coordination—perfect for someone who enjoys being both customer-facing and operationally involved in seeing projects through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of clients within the commercial building, fit-out, and architectural sectors.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key decision-makers, including builders, architects, designers, and project managers.
  • Promote and sell a diverse range of commercial door systems, sliding systems, and architectural hardware products across major project types.
  • Follow up quotations and tenders, negotiate pricing, and secure purchase orders in line with business objectives.
  • Interpret drawings and technical specifications, providing informed recommendations and tailored solutions.
  • Coordinate internally with design, estimating, and production teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Resolve issues and manage escalations with professionalism, ensuring positive outcomes and repeat business.
  • Contribute to sales strategy discussions, identifying new opportunities, industry trends, and competitor activity.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in specification sales, account management, or business development within the construction products or building materials industry.
  • If you've sold to contractors, or to the A&D community (architects & designers) and won business towards commercial projects (i.e offices, schools, hospitals, universities etc..) we definitely want to hear from you (regardless of what you're selling)
  • Direct exposure to moveable walls, acoustic panels, interior joinery, commercial furniture and/or partitioning systems highly regarded but not essential
  • A trade background in joinery, cabinetmaking, glazing, or shopfitting is desirable and provides an advantage in understanding technical specifications but it's not essential
  • Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding sales targets, coupled with strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and communicate technical details effectively to both clients and internal teams.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM systems preferred.

What's on Offer

  • Competitive salary: $105,000 - $120,000 (exp. dep) + Car Allowance + Superannuation + Performance Bonus.
  • Structured onboarding and training, with clear pathways for career progression.
  • Supportive team culture that celebrates collaboration, transparency, and mutual success.
  • Access to company-wide recognition and rewards programs.
  • The opportunity to represent a market-leading Australian brand with a proven track record of product excellence and innovation.
