The opportunity

As the IT Internal Audit Manager you will be responsible for leading end-to-end internal audits focused on Technology and Cybersecurity. The successful candidate will ensure timely delivery of key milestones and outputs, conduct comprehensive risk assessments, perform controls testing, and contribute to the execution of the audit programme. Additionally, they will support the development of audit reports, providing clear insights and recommendations to stakeholders.

Your new role

  • Lead end-to-end Technology and Cyber audit engagements, including developing audit scopes, timelines, engaging relevant stakeholders, and coordinating the delivery of key outputs.
  • Ensure all audits are executed in full compliance with the Group Audit Manual, maintaining high standards and meeting agreed deadlines.
  • Proactively source and analyse information to assess risks and design robust Audit Work Programs.
  • Evaluate and conclude on the design and operational effectiveness of mitigating controls.
  • Utilise approved tools—including TM+ audit application, templates, sampling methodologies, and data analytics—to conduct and document audit work effectively.
  • Communicate audit findings clearly and collaborate with management to address control deficiencies, recommend remediation actions, and monitor follow-up progress.
  • Draft audit issues and observations in line with GIA methodology and reporting standards for inclusion in final audit reports.
  • Champion best practices and support new initiatives aimed at enhancing team efficiency and effectiveness, including coaching and mentoring junior team members.
  • Undertake complex audits and reviews requiring advanced expertise and judgement.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of and commitment to the implementation of the GIA strategy.

About you

To be successful as the IT Internal Audit Manager you will have extensive experience in Technology and Cyber audit and risk management within the financial services industry. You will also have:

  • Tertiary degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, with relevant certifications in Technology or Cyber risk management / assurance (e.g. CISA, CISSP, CRISC).
  • Additional specialist vendor certifications in Technology or Cybersecurity are highly regarded.
  • Strong understanding of IT operational processes and technologies, including governance, strategy, architecture, application development, infrastructure/service management, and cybersecurity.
  • Solid grasp of IT audit methodologies and familiarity with industry frameworks such as COBIT, ITIL, ISO27001, and NIST.
  • Experience conducting data analytics, with sound knowledge of IT industry trends, internal audit principles, and risk management practices.
