A varied role assisting with events, venue management, and administration across a range of council centres and halls.

  • Casual role with shifts available during business hours, after-hours and weekends
  • $44.27 an hour (including casual loading) + super
  • Locations in Reservoir, Preston and Bundoora, all close to public transport

About the RoleWorking within the Community Hubs and Civic Services teams, Centre Support Officers assist with the day-to-day management of council centres. This role is a mix of desk-based administration work and hands on venue support including set-up and pack down, as well as ad-hoc tasks related to venues and events.

  • Deliver customer service for hirers of halls and rooms via phone, email, and face-to-face
  • Assist with safety management, and report venue maintenance issues
  • Set-up tables, chairs and equipment for bookings, and also clean and pack down in some cases
  • Help with events and community programs delivered by City of Darebin
  • Assist with Audio-Visual systems

Skills & Experience

  • Customer service
  • General office and administration tasks including computer literacy and Microsoft Office competency
  • Food handling and presentation
  • Venue management
  • Wide range of availability including after hours and weekends
  • Working With Children's Check or ability to obtain one
