  • A rapidly growing company, with around 50 staff and a turnover in the tens of millions.
  • Predominantly providing heavy equipment hire along with hydraulic hosing products and maintenance labour to a range of mines across QLD including those in The Bowen Basin, Mt Isa and Far North QLD.​​
  • Some of their existing customers include Stanmore, BHP, Rio Tinto, Whitehaven Coal and other civil contractors.​​
  • Their vision is to be the leading mining & civil support supplier in Australia.​
  • Their aim is to support clients to retain operational control whilst maintaining & maximising capital efficiency by allowing flexibility as project scopes change throughout their life cycle.
  • Providing both dry hire and fully maintained solutions for equipment hire for nearly a decade.​​
  • With a strong presence in the coal mining sector, they are actively continuing their expansion on other hard-rock mine sites.​​
  • Holding a good inventory of heavy equipment, including dozers, excavators, scrapers, graders and trucks, they are able to supply customers with one off pieces of machinery or entire fleets.​
  • Their equipment portfolio includes a wide range of brands, but particularly CAT and Hitachi.​​
  • Trust, performance and affordability are some of the attributes synonymous with this business.

*All About The Role*

  • The State Business Development Manager will lead equipment hire for the whole of QLD.​​
  • You will continue managing and growing the customer market in QLD, whilst nurturing ongoing opportunities with existing customers.​​
  • Working to increase broader presence in other mining sectors outside of the coal industry, such as copper, gold and other hard-rock.​​
  • Undertaking regular site visits to introduce the equipment portfolio.
  • Allocating internal inventory to convert rental opportunities.​​
  • Proposing and quoting solutions to meet clients needs.
  • Undertaking regular and cyclical call backs with customers to ensure equipment is optimally performing and company visibility is maintained on site.​​
  • Working closely with the Managing Director to identify inventory acquisition needs, both short term and long term.​​
  • Reporting to the MD and board on sales activity, growth opportunities and performance.​​
  • You will also be involved in other activities such as marketing, PR and tender production.

*All About You*

  • You will have strong experience in the mining industry.​
  • Ideally you will have exposure to earthmoving equipment or familiarity with it.​
  • Maintenance aptitude advantageous but not essential.​
  • This may also suit someone from a maintenance background looking to step away from the tools into a sales role.​​
  • With an aptitude for communication and new business generation, you will have a proven sales track record.
  • You will ideally have an existing 'black book' of contacts in the mining community in QLD.​​
  • An ability to work autonomously, setting your own sales strategy, will be key to this position.​​
  • You will be happy to work from home, managing your own time effectively, with availability for significant travel across the region to mine sites.
